Hartford, CT – State Representative Yaccarino today voiced strong support for House Bill 7204, a measure that would permit tow trucks in Connecticut to use blue emergency lights to enhance roadside safety.
Rep. Yaccarino highlighted the critical need for this legislation, emphasizing the dangers tow truck operators face daily while assisting motorists on Connecticut’s highways. He praised Salena Khan of Nelcon Towing & Recovery and Life On The Line Co. for her compelling testimony, which shed light on the real risks tow operators encounter.
“As someone who has worked in towing, I know firsthand how critical this measure is,” said Rep. Yaccarino. “Tow truck operators put their lives on the line every day to help others. Allowing blue emergency lights will increase visibility and reduce roadside accidents, ensuring they can do their jobs safely.”
H.B. 7204 aims to align Connecticut with other states that have successfully implemented blue emergency lights on tow trucks to improve roadside safety. The bill has garnered strong support from industry professionals and safety advocates.
Rep. Yaccarino is urging swift action from the legislature to pass this crucial bill and protect those who work tirelessly to keep Connecticut’s roads safe.
