State Representative Dave Yaccarino (R-87) received his 2021-2023 legislative assignments on Friday, December 4, 2020. It was announced by House Republican Leader-elect Vincent Candelora that Rep. Yaccarino will serve in the House Republican Leadership Team once again as a Senior Whip.

Yaccarino, reelected to his sixth term as state representative in November 2020, was reappointed as a member on the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee, as well as the Commerce, Executive and Legislative Nominations and Screening Committees. His new legislative responsibilities will begin at the start of the next legislative session on January 6, 2021.

“I am grateful to the people of North Haven for once again trusting me to be their voice in Hartford. I look forward to the upcoming legislative session and to returning to my assigned committees so that I can dive back into doing the people’s work. I will advocate on your behalf, do what is best for the most people, and work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to restore fiscal stability and responsibility within our state,” said Rep. Yaccarino.

According to the Connecticut General Assembly, the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee has jurisdiction over all matters relating to finance, revenue, capital bonding, fees and taxation. The committee also has cognizance over employer contributions for unemployment compensation and all matters relating to the Department of Revenue Services and the revenue aspects of the Division of Special Revenue.

The Commerce has cognizance of all matters relating to the Department of Economic and Community Development and Connecticut Innovations, Incorporated.

The Executive and Legislative Nominations Committee has cognizance of matters relating to the duties of a nominee for the position of a department head. All executive and legislative nominations requiring action of either or both chambers, except judicial nominations, nominations of workers’ compensation commissioners and nominations of members of the Board of Pardons and Paroles, shall be referred to the committee on executive and legislative nominations.
