Continuing his recent tour of local businesses, Rep. Yaccarino visited The Kitchen Company on Sackett Point Road this week. During the tour, co-owners John Fecke and Gail Bolling highlighted the company’s attention to detail and customer-focused operation as keys to their continued success.

The Kitchen Company, with a 3,000 square feet design showroom in North Haven, services clients across Connecticut and the United States with quality kitchen and bathroom design services and installation for more than 55 years.

However, both Fecke and Bolling pointed out how uncertainty in financial markets, health care and energy costs and state-level legislation are affecting their business. They also mentioned a dearth of skilled labor as an impediment to growth. “We’re not losing business to the competition, we’re losing it to the economy” Fecke said.

Rep. Yaccarino assured them he has heard similar statements from the other companies he’s visited and he plans to bring their concerns to the legislature during the special session on jobs scheduled for late October.
