On a beautiful May Saturday afternoon recently, two dozen volunteers organized by Rep. Yaccarino descended with rakes and shovels in hand to clean and spruce up the area surrounding Todd’s Pond. Volunteers from the North Haven Garden Club and North Haven High School trimmed and cut back brush and bushes, raked, piled up and removed sticks and leaves and cleared the stream just below the damn of debris.
Two high school students donated their time and talents to repaint the sign welcoming visitors to the idyllic spot along Rte 130.
This event was a continuation of Rep. Yaccarino’s successful yard clean-up last year where he and a group of volunteers cleaned up the yards of three local senior citizens who needed assistance.
