Rep. Yaccarino Continues Local Business Tour

Rep. Yaccarino continued his tour of local North Haven businesses with recent stops at Ulbrich Steel and SIGN Lite, Inc.
During one-on-one meetings with Chris Ulbrich, Chief Operating Officer of Ulbrich Steel, and Elaine DeTulio, President of SIGN Lite, Rep. Yaccarino was able to gather a better understanding of their business needs and the challenges they face in an ever-changing and dynamic marketplace, as well as the challenges they face from the policies and regulations crafted in Hartford.
While vastly different companies, both Ulbrich and DeTulio echoed similar sentiments regarding the need for Connecticut to be more friendly to established Connecticut businesses and to lure new companies here. The high cost of energy, state regulation, mandates on local employers and taxes were listed as major concerns for both. Rep. Yaccarino agreed and said he will be bring their concerns to the legislature during the special session on jobs scheduled for October 26th.
Ulbrich, founded in Wallingford in 1924 with corporate offices in North Haven, is a leader in steel and special metals with 800 employees in 17 locations worldwide, including 300 employees in Connecticut.
SIGN Lite, founded in North Haven in 1966, is located in a 28,500 square-foot facility on Corporate Drive and has 15 employees.
