The Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) will conduct a public information meeting concerning the rehabilitation of Bridge No. 03120, which carries Bassett Road over I-91, in North Haven.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 12, at 7:00 p.m., in the North Haven Memorial Town Hall, Conference Room 1, 18 Church Street, North Haven.

This project involves the replacement of Bridge No. 03120 which was originally constructed in 1965. At this time, the project is nearing completion of the preliminary design phase. The project will soon progress into the final design phase. The plan is for a full replacement of the existing bridge.

A local road detour, approximately 3.7 miles, is planned using Blakeslee Avenue to Pool Road. During construction, temporary shoulder and lanes closures may be required on I-91 below Bassett Road.

Construction is anticipated to commence in spring 2017, assuming availability of funding. The estimated construction cost is $7,100,000 and will use both state and federal funds.

The public information meeting is being held to afford a full opportunity for the public’s participation, and to allow open discussion of any views and comments the community may have prior to progressing the proposed project into the final design stage.

Plans will be available for public review. Department personnel will be available during the meeting to discuss this project.

More detailed information is available at the department’s office of engineering, 2800 Berlin Turnpike, Newington, Connecticut, during office hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays.

Anyone wishing to review the plans may contact Mr. Andrew J. Cardinali, Transportation Supervising Engineer, at (860) 594-3315 or by email at andrew.cardinali@ct.gov.

All persons interested in these projects are welcome to attend this meeting and discuss the projects with department personnel.

WHERE: North Haven Memorial Town Hall, Conference Room 1, 18 Church Street, North Haven.

    WHEN: Wednesday, August 12, 7:00 p.m.

As always, if you are unable to attend but would still like to connect with me, please call 1(800) 842-1423 or email dave.yaccarino@housegop.ct.gov for more information.

“Governor Lamont’s reappointment of Marissa Gillett as PURA Chair is a mistake. Connecticut families are struggling with high electric costs, and they deserve leadership that delivers results and tells the truth. During her reconfirmation hearing, I asked Chair Gillett directly about the deleted text messages tied to an ongoing legal matter. I didn’t get a […]
