    The state’s annual Sales Tax Free Week this year begins Sunday, August 16, 2020 and runs through Saturday, August 22, 2020. During this one-week sales tax holiday, retail purchases of most clothing and footwear items priced under $100 are exempt from Connecticut sales and use tax. This exemption applies to each eligible item under $100, regardless of how many of those items are sold to a customer on the same invoice.

    Highlights:

    This year will be Connecticut’s 20th Sales Tax Free Week, it will bring much-needed financial relief to residents across the state.

    Per state statute, Sales Tax Free Week begins on the third Sunday of August and runs until the following Saturday.
    2020 Sales Tax Free Week dates are Sunday, August 16, through Saturday, August 22, 2020.
