    HARTFORD – on Wednesday, January 8th, State Representative Dave Yaccarino of the 87th Assembly, representing North Haven and Ranking Member of Executive & Legislation Nominations was sworn in Wednesday morning for the opening of the 2025-2026 General Assembly session. Rep. Yaccarino’s committee assignments are Finance, Revenue & Bonding, Energy & Technology, and General Law.

    Rep. Yaccarino’s 8th term will focus on pertinent issues residents of North Haven have such as energy costs and public safety.

    With North Haven First Selectman Mike Freda and Commissioner of Public Safety Ronell Higgins, Rep. Dave Yaccarino plans to continue their efforts to end street takeovers in North Haven.

    Rep. Yaccarino proposed his first bill of the 2025-2026 session (Proposed S.B. No. 274), an act authoring the use of steady blue lights on wreckers to increase the visibility and safety of wreckers on the road.

    He was accompanied by his wife, Lorena, during the swearing-in ceremony.

    “I am honored to serve the wonderful people of North Haven.” Rep. Yaccarino said on opening day.

    State Representative Yaccarino’s 87th Assembly District encompasses all of North Haven.
