11th Annual Secret Santa Collection for Veterans a Success

Yesterday State Representative Dave Yaccarino joined fellow legislators and Department of Veterans’ Affairs Commissioner Linda Schwartz to wrap up the 11th Annual Secret Santa Collection for the Rocky Hill Veterans’ home.

Rep. Yaccarino, the House Ranking Member of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee and former member of the US Navy Reserves, spoke about the importance of remembering our veterans and their families and the sacrifices they have made for our country and the pursuit of freedom, especially during the holiday season. Personal items, gift cards, and clothing were among the items donated for the home.

State Representative Elizabeth “Betty” Boukus who runs the collection each year, Rep. Frank Nicastro and Rep. Claire Janowski joined Yaccarino and Schwartz at the State Capitol for the culmination of the collection.
