Last week, I had the opportunity to meet and visit with another small business owner, Vinnie Zito, a resident of the 55th District and Owner and Operator of Metal Industries, a family-owned full-service machine shop located in Hartford.
Metal Industries specializes in welding, machining, fabricating, general repair, custom machined parts, and providing prototypes to the HVAC industry.
During our tour, I got to meet with some of Vinnie’s employees and see first-hand the specialized skills they possess. While the company under Vinnie’s tutelage is expanding, he mentioned some of the difficulty in finding the type of skilled workers needed to continue to achieve this goal, a common theme among business owners I’ve spoken with.
The company continues to be a leader in their industry and their success is a direct result of great leadership, a dedicated staff, and a desire to provide quality products to their industry.
