PURA Chairman Stepping Down

PURA Chairman Marissa Gillett has submitted her resignation effective October 10.
Her resignation comes after the Chairman’s recent tenure has been surrounded in controversy – with deleted text messages, questions over whether or not she coordinated with Democrat co-chairs of the Energy Committee to write an op-ed criticizing the utility companies, bypassing the committee to make unilateral policy decisions, and most recent, calls this week from House Republican Leader Vin Candelora into whether or not she lied when testifying before the Energy Committee back in February.
My hope is that whoever steps in to fill this role fully understands the importance of being transparent and accountable to the residents of Connecticut.
