HARTFORD - According to State Rep. Kurt Vail (R-Stafford), Tuesday was a busy and productive day at the State Capitol in Hartford, with public hearings before both the Government Oversight Committee and the Veterans' Affairs Committee.

"Public hearings are among the most important parts of the legislative session. They give us the opportunity to hear directly from the people and communities our policy proposals are designed to serve. Residents, advocates, and stakeholders share their experiences, concerns, and ideas — offering valuable, real-world perspective on how proposed legislation will truly impact their lives," said Vail.

He went on to note, these conversations help ensure our work is thoughtful, informed, and responsive. Good policy starts with listening, and days like today remind us why public input is essential to the legislative process.
