Vail, CT Farmers Advocate for Fair Land Values

Key Takeaways
- Farmers demand fair land valuations to prevent tax-driven farm losses
- Local growers push for appraisal reforms that reflect agricultural realities
HARTFORD - Connecticut farmers met earlier this week in Hartford to respond to land valuations that were unjust and out of step with reality. State Rep. Kurt Vail (R-Stafford) joined them to help address these serious concerns.
"The good news is that these valuations have been temporarily halted. Now, our focus must shift to building a fair and transparent assessment process—one that ensures this never happens again and that farmers’ land is valued accurately, consistently, and equitably," said Vail.
