Rocky Hill — The Veterans Hall of Fame Ceremony was held last evening at the Rocky Hill Veterans’ Home, the main campus for many veteran-related services and home to numerous men and women who proudly served our country. State Rep. Kurt Vail (R-Stafford) attended the ceremony and witnessed a truly distinguished class inducted this year—an experience he described as both humbling and inspiring.

Russell Vibberts Jr. of Stafford (U.S. Army) was among those inducted during the ceremony.

“I’ve known Russell for a very long time and can attest that he is a stalwart in the community and an outstanding individual,” said Vail. “Drafted in 1967, Russell is a combat veteran who has earned the Bronze Star Medal with V Device, Vietnamese Gallantry Cross with Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, and the Valorous Unit Award. He has also been a devoted family man and has served his community locally on the Board of Education and the Inland Wetlands Commission, as well as leading as president of both the Stafford Rotary Club and the Midget Football League.”
