State Rep. Joe Polletta joined Town Times reporter Nick Perugini at the Watertown Public Library for a sit-down interview to discuss the recently ended legislative session, the budget deficit, tax increases, the potential for tolls to be implemented and the legalization of cannabis, among other topics.
Rep. Polletta, who was at the library for an additional, recorded interview for the Town Times website, said that while the budget and several other pieces of major legislation that passed were disappointing, there were still good things that passed this session. Specifically, he mentioned the cultural districts legislation – similar to legislation he and State Senator Eric Berthel introduced – that will allow municipalities to create designated areas to encourage and promote the arts and culture of their town.
