House Republican Leader Themis Klarides recently announced State Representative Joe Polletta (R-68) will now serve on the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee for the 2018-2019 legislative session.

The committee position was vacated when Rep. Laura Hoydick resigned to serve as Mayor of Stratford.

“I’m excited to join the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee and look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to continue to move Connecticut forward in a sustainable, responsible way,” Rep. Polletta said. “I would also like to thank Rep. Klarides for trusting me with this important position.”

In addition to the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee, Rep. Polletta will continue to serve on the Banking, Housing and Insurance and Real Estate Committees.

For more information, and to read descriptions of the duties and responsibilities of each legislative committee, please go to www.cga.ct.gov and click on the “Committees” tab.

The legislative “short” session begins on Wednesday, February 7. Every other year the legislature holds a three month “short” session where only bills related to budgetary, revenue and financial matters will be considered from individual legislators. Bills on other subject matter may only be brought up by legislative committees.
