WATERTOWN – State Representative Joe Polletta (R-68) celebrated Read Across America by reading The Legend of Rock, Paper, Scissors by Drew Daywalt to an excited fourth grade class at Judson School in Watertown. The annual tradition promotes early childhood literacy and commemorates Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
“Having the chance to read to students is one of the best parts of my job,” said Rep. Polletta. “It’s important for students to understand the benefits of reading and literature from an early age, and I hope Read Across America inspires them to keep reading and enjoy learning.”
According to its website, the National Education Association seeks to build a nation of readers through its signature program, Read Across America. For more information about this great event, please visit www.nea.org/readacross.
