Saturday, April 27 is National Drug Take Back Day.
This event is part of a nationwide initiative to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft by encouraging residents to empty their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. According to the DEA, nationwide, more than 460 tons of unwanted medications were turned in for disposal last year.
If you have unused or unwanted medication pills or patches (unfortunately, collection sites cannot accept liquids, needles or sharps), please bring it to a drop-off location for free, easy and anonymous disposal.
