Rep. Petit and Sen. Martin Host Informational Meeting to Discuss Covanta’s Request to Burn Medical Waste

Last night, Sen. Martin and Rep. Petit held an informational meeting at the Plainville library to provide area residents with an opportunity to have their voices heard and questions answered regarding the possibility of Covanta, a local Waste-to-Energy plant, being allowed to burn medical waste at their facility.

Covanta seeks to adjust a current permit with the City of Bristol that would allow them to convert a portion (8%) of their trash-burning to medical waste.

Rep. Petit Helping the Salvation Army Raise Money for Local Families

HARTFORD – On Saturday, December 18th, State Representative William A. Petit Jr. (R-22) will be volunteering to help raise money for local families this holiday season by ringing bells as part of the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign.

Petit Jr. (R-22) and State Senator Henri Martin (R-31) will be holding an informational meeting to provide area residents with an opportunity to learn about a permit between the City of Bristol and waste management company Covanta that would allow the company to burn medical waste.
