Bond Commission Approves $50,306 for Shelton Police Department

(HARTFORD) — On Thursday, April 6th, the State Bond Commission convened to discuss and approve requested funding for several statewide programs and initiatives. In their meeting, the commission approved the $50,306 to reimburse Shelton’s Police Department for the purchase of body cameras, dash cameras, and video storage devices.

(HARTFORD) — On Wednesday morning, State Representative Jason Perillo (R-113) joined 7th grade classes from the Shelton Intermediate School as they toured Connecticut’s State Capitol building. Perillo caught up with the students as they stopped by the House Chambers for an informal Q&A, led by the League of Women Voters.

On Friday, March 10th, the Finance, Revenue, and Bonding Committee will host a public hearing to consider House Bill 5290, An Act Sunsetting the Highway Use Tax. This Republican-led proposal was initially denied a public hearing by Democratic colleagues, until House Republicans used a parliamentary procedure securing the 51 required signatures to force a public hearing for a bill.

(HARTFORD) — On Tuesday, Representative Jason Perillo (R-113) submitted testimony to the Energy and Technology Committee in support of House Bill 5286, An Act Concerning Hearings on Waiver Requests Before the Connecticut Siting Council. The bill will require the CT Siting Council to hold a public hearing on a party’s request to waive any rule, regulation, condition, or order of the council before granting such waiver.
