Today, I commented on the pressing issue of School Choice in CT Urban Cities during the Finance Committee’s public hearing. The featured bill (H.B. 5424) seeks to establish a tax credit for educational access and opportunity scholarship donations. Please view the video HERE to hear my comments.

With this bill, we seek to expand school accessibility and choice by offering tax credits for nonprofit entities who provide tuition assistance funding/scholarships. In this meeting, we heard testimony from residents in larger Connecticut cities who were desperate because of the poor quality of their schools. This bill serves to help low-income families as well as residents of these larger cities to access better quality educational opportunities that they deserve.
