Electric Vehicle Information Forum

State Senator Henri Martin, State Rep. Joe Hoxha and I will be hosting an Electric Vehicle Information Forum designed to provide further insight into a plan to prohibit the sale of all new gas-powered vehicles by 2035.

The Regulation Review Committee will review such a proposal by the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) at an upcoming meeting scheduled for November 28th.

While we all support improving our environment within reasonable means, this proposed mandate, built on an extremely aggressive timeline is not in line with the current EPA emissions regulations, nor does it allow for the state’s full legislature to weigh in on these types of decisions.

My colleagues and I have serious concerns about what this ban will mean for you, your family, your friends as well as our business community. I’d like to encourage you to come to the forum on November 14th to voice your concerns and hear what we’re doing in Hartford to try and prevent it.
