Bristol – State Rep. Cara Pavalock (R-Bristol) recently met with Boy Scouts of local Troop 20 at the Bristol Pubic Library. Rep. Pavalock spent the time talking with the scouts about her role as a state legislator to help them fulfill the requirements they needed to earn their First Class ranking. Similar to a legislative debate, the scouts also engaged in a mock debate, choosing a topic and arguing in favor of or against the issue.
“I was so happy to meet with the Scouts and have the chance to speak with them about my role as a state legislator,” said Rep. Pavalock. “They also did a fantastic job exhibiting their critical thinking skills during their mock debate exercise. I was very impressed; these scouts certainly worked very hard to earn their badge. I hope that their time spent talking with me was helpful to their learning about government and I wish them all continued success on their scout journey.”
