It’s July 1st and that means several new laws are now in effect.
Some of the recently passed laws include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Changes to DUI convictions, including mandatory ignition interlock devices
• New laws regarding bicycle safety
• New assistance for students with dyslexia
• Manufacturers or businesses can no longer require product registration for an initial warranty
• Five colleges and state universities will have to establish an “open-source text book” system to help lower potential student costs
• New rules for in-school suspension or expulsion for students in kindergarten to second grade, except in certain circumstances
• Banning the purchase, possession and sale of powdered alcohol
