BRISTOL – State Rep. Cara Pavalock joined members of the American Legion Seicheprey Post 2 and their guests during POW/MIA Remembrance Day at the Post. The guest speaker at this year’s event was Ted Aub, State Coordinator of the National League of POW/MIA Families. During his remarks, Aub spoke of the more than 90,500 veterans listed as POW/MIA since WWI.
Chuck Bouffard set the Missing Man Table and Honors, a ceremonial tribute to those who never came home. The empty table was set for one with a white cloth, inverted glass, lit candle, red rose in a vase tied with a red ribbon, and other symbolic tributes.
During Rep. Pavalock’s remarks, she extended her thanks to those who have served and have sacrificed so much for the greater good. She encouraged the veterans to continue to share their stories.
National POW/MIA Recognition Day is not a federal public holiday in the United States, but it is a national observance.
