BRISTOL –This morning, State Representative Cara Pavalock (R-Bristol) paid a visit to Mountain View Elementary School in Bristol to participate in Read Across America Day.
In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, Rep. Pavalock joined in the nationwide celebration by reading ‘The Hello Goodbye Window’ by Norton Juster to the second grade students of Mrs. Famigletti’s class.
“It was a pleasure to participate in this year’s Read Across America celebration at Mountain View Elementary School,” said Rep. Pavalock. “It is essential to emphasize the importance of reading as students continue their learning and development. Today’s celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday is a great way to engage students and I was thrilled to have spent time reading to these very bright youngsters.”
According to their website, The National Education Association seeks to build a nation of readers through its signature program, NEA’s Read Across America. Now in its 19th year, this year-round program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources.
