Local legislators on Nov. 18 hosted a reception at Bristol City Hall to honor area students who participated in an essay contest about what Bristol means to them.

Students from St. Joseph School, West Bristol School, and St. Matthew School were recognized for their outstanding essays.  The students’ writings build upon Bristol’s new “All Heart” brand, which emphasizes the caring culture of the city. Sen. Henri Martin, Rep. Whit Betts, Rep. Cara Pavalock and Rep. Frank Nicastro commended the students on their efforts and extended special thanks to contest sponsor Thomaston Savings Bank.

Thomaston Savings Bank provided $50 and $25 gift cards to the winners and runners up.
