Vernon Delegation to Host Food Drive in Memory of Bryan Flint

Posted on October 10, 2023

VERNON – In May, the community lost one of its champions who had made it his mission to help others who were in need. Bryan Flint passed away earlier this year after dedicating so much of his time to the homeless; now we all have a chance to take up that torch, carry on his legacy and help our neighbors.

The Vernon Legislative Delegation will host the Vernon Community Food Drive in Bryan’s memory to benefit the Cornerstone Foundation where he was the deputy director. This is a bipartisan mission to help, as Reps. Jaime Foster and Kevin Brown will join Sen. Jeff Gordon and Rep. Nuccio to take in donations.

The main food drive will be held on Oct. 21 from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at St. Bernard Church at 25 St. Bernard Terrace in Vernon.

Starting Tuesday (Oct. 10), food donation boxes will be placed at the Vernon Town Hall (14 Park Place), the Rockville Public Library (52 Union St., Vernon) and St. Bernard Church. Those boxes will be in place until Oct. 20.

Please consider donating at the boxes, or during our main drive. Every donation counts and will help someone in need.

Here are some of the items that are needed by Cornerstone:

-Tuna

-Canned meats

-Pasta

-Rice

-Pasta sauces

-Peanut butter

-Paper towels

-Toilet paper

-Other basic toiletries
