WILLINGTON – Rep. Tammy Nuccio, R-53rd, is partnering with the Willington Human Services Food Pantry to help those in need through the organization of a food drive to restock the pantry’s shelves.
Food banks need assistance throughout the year and Rep. Nuccio is hoping that all residents who can participate will lend a hand during the donation drive.
“I’m hoping everyone can pitch in to assist the pantry – no matter how big or small a donation, it goes such a long way to help your neighbors,” Rep. Nuccio said. “It’s incredibly important to me that working families and residents have resources during difficult times and this was a way I could help. Also, I wanted to give a huge thank you to Willington Pizza House for providing the space for the in-person drop off and it just shows the community spirit that makes me proud to represent the 53rd District.”
The drive began on July 17 and continues through Aug. 8. Rep. Nuccio will help cap off the drive on Thursday, Aug. 8 with an in-person donation drop off at Willington Pizza House.
The list of needed items is on the flyer above and includes canned food, hygiene products and pasta, among many others. Every can of vegetables, box of pasta, or bag of rice helps the community.
Four drop-off locations in Willington are available for all donations:
• Willington Town Hall (40 Old Farms Road)
• Willington Public Library (7 Ruby Road)
• Willington Pizza House (25 River Road)
• Willington Pizza Too (11 Phelps Way)
