Shelton Lawmakers Host Informational Forum on Electricity Rates

SHELTON – State Representatives Jason Perillo, Ben McGorty and Senator Kevin Kelly joined forces with Connecticut’s Public Utilities Regulatory Authority this week to help residents learn more about their electricity bills and how to save money on their rates.

“A major complaint I hear from residents and businesses is about the cost of electricity rates,” said Rep. Perillo. “I think the cost of electricity is way to high and is something that needs to change here Connecticut and is something I will continue to work on. For now, I am glad the state does provide resources to help residents learn how to save money on their electricity rates.”

Rep. McGorty added, “I want to thank PURA for coming down to Shelton to help residents learn more about their electricity rates. It’s clear that something needs to be done about the cost of electricity in Connecticut. I encourage residents to continue to reach out to us about the cost of electricity so we can bring this information before PURA next time suppliers ask for a rate hike.
