State Representatives Ben McGorty (R-122) and Jason Perillo (R-113) announced today they will continue their “Small Business Highlights” tours by meeting with the vice president of Shelton’s Charter Arms.

About once a month, the legislators highlight a local business in Shelton and meet with employees to discuss various topics regarding their business, the economic climate in Connecticut and how state policy affects them. In the past they’ve met with representatives from Caloroso Eatery & Bar, Glitzy Twins and Avalon Apartments.

    • What: Tour of Charter Arms
    • Where: 18 Brewster Lane, Shelton, Connecticut 06484
    • When: Tuesday, September, 22nd

The media is invited to attend; however, the event is NOT open to the public.

According to the company’s website, Charter Arms was “founded in 1964 and manufactures a full line of revolvers made by professional, skilled American craftsmen in Shelton, CT, in the heart of New England’s “Gun Valley” – the cradle of the American firearms industry.”

Representatives Perillo and McGorty launched “Small Business Highlights” earlier this year to reach out to successful local Shelton businesses and highlight the stories of their success in a changed Connecticut economy.

For their first installment, Perillo & McGorty sat down with Mathew Calandro, owner of Caloroso Eatery & Bar located at 100 Center Street in Shelton.  They have also met with representatives from Glitzy Twins and Avalon Apartments.
