SHELTON, CT — State Representative Ben McGorty today shared the results of a productive Sunday morning meeting with Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) Commissioner Garrett Eucalitto, State Senator Jason Perillo, fellow State Representative Amy Romano, the Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments, and local Aldermen Eric McPherson and Ben Perry. The meeting focused on tackling the downtown traffic disruptions in Shelton caused by emergency repairs to the Commodore Hull Bridge.
“I want to thank Commissioner Eucalitto and his team for taking the time to meet with us and see the traffic situation firsthand,” said Rep. McGorty. “We had a very productive conversation about how these repairs are affecting residents and what can be done to ease those frustrations.”
During the meeting, CTDOT committed to funding local police officers to help direct traffic and improve flow on surface streets, as well as enhancing signage to better guide drivers toward alternate routes.
Rep. McGorty concluded: “While there’s still work to be done, I believe we will continue making progress together. I want to thank CTDOT’s partnership in tackling these issues directly and their understanding of how this impacts our residents.”
