The CT Department of Transportation has recently announced the following projects expected to impact traffic in our area:

    • Scheduled Closures of the Exit 33 I-95 Off-Ramp in Stratford: scheduled closures of the Exit 33 off-ramp on I-95 in Stratford between the hours of 9 AM and 3 PM on Wednesday, September 22, Thursday, September 23, and Friday, September 24, 2021. A detour will be in place bringing traffic down to Exit 34, to southbound Route 1, and back into Stratford.
    • Installations and Revisions of Traffic Control Signals in Various Connecticut Towns: the department is developing plans to replace existing traffic control signal equipment with new equipment in Shelton, Stratford and Trumbull:
      • Shelton – SR 714 (Bridgeport Ave.) at Old Stratford Rd. and Commerce Dr. – Intersection No. 126-213

      • Shelton – SR 714 (Bridgeport Ave.) at Beard Sawmill Rd. and Mill St. – Intersection No. 126-215

      • Shelton – SR 714 (Bridgeport Ave.) at Long Hill Cross Rd. – Intersection No. 126-235
      • Trumbull – Route 108 (Nichols Ave.) at SR 743 (Penny Ave.) and Route 8/25 NB On-Ramp – Intersection No. 144-229
      • Stratford – Route 110/Route 113 (N. Main St.) at Route 110 (E. Main St.) – Intersection No. 138-248

The design plans for the traffic control signal project are expected to be completed in January 2023 with a tentative advertising date for construction of March 2023.
