McGorty Tours Sikorsky Facility

State Representatives Ben McGorty (R-122) took part in a two-hour tour of the facilities at Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation in Stratford on February 23rd. The Stratford legislator joined other regional lawmakers on the tour where they were shown the workings of the plant.
The Connecticut Aerospace Reinvestment Act was passed last session, aimed at reinforcing Connecticut as a leader in the aerospace industry, fostering the creation and retention of jobs. McGorty, who was elected following the passage of the measure, has expressed support for the program which strengthens the economic vitality of the region.

McGorty. “I appreciated being able to tour their impressive facilities and see why they are the backbone of our region’s manufacturing base. The state’s partnership with Sikorsky and UTC will continue to be an essential one. ”
Sikorsky, along with Pratt & Whitney and UTC Aerospace Systems employ 22,200 workers statewide.
