Rep. Ben McGorty stood to remember his predecessor, State Representative Larry G. Miller, who passed away on May 31st, 2014, as the House of Representatives introduced a resolution commemorating his life and service to the state. McGorty was elected to Miller’s seat in a special election last year following Miller’s passing.
Rep. Miller, who served the 122nd district from 1991 until his passing, represented Shelton, Stratford and Trumbull. Representative Miller’s family, including his wife of 54 years, Mildred Peters Miller, were present as the entire membership of the House expressed sympathy on his passing, noting that his legacy would endure in the chamber he worked in for over 23 years.
