CT National Guard Launches Operation ELF

Currently, thirty-eight CT National Guard Soldiers and Airmen are deployed in South Asia, while 225 additional military personnel are expected to deploy overseas in the next 15 months.
Therefore, I am happy to announce that the Connecticut National Guard has launched it’s 12th annual Operation Elf (Embracing Lonely Families) program. Operation ELF supports families of Soldiers and Airmen who are deployed during the holidays and assists throughout the year with workforce training initiatives, expanded educational opportunities, housing assistance, and job placement help.
Please join me in saying ‘thank you’ to the families of soldiers who are serving our nation this holiday season. Donations can be made in the form of gift cards to pharmacies, grocery, department and home supply stores, as well as fuel oil, snow removal, and other home maintenance services. Donors can also participate in the Adopt-A-Family program to provide essential goods and services to a family in need such as clothing, food assistance and utility assistance.
Operation ELF donations and gift cards can be dropped off at the following local National Guard facility through Friday, December 12, 2014 between the hours of 8:30am and 4:00pm:
Stratford Armory
64 Armory Road
Stratford, CT 06497
Please note that mailed donations should include the donor’s name, address, and phone number so that contributions can be acknowledged.
Financial donations may also be made through the non-profit Connecticut National Guard Foundation, Inc., c/o 360 Broad Street, Hartford, CT 06105-3796. All donations are fully tax-deductible.
