Connecticut State Colleges and Universities Release Plan for Fall Semester Reopening

The Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) has announced that it plans to reopen its 16 campuses this fall. This means that the four universities can start bringing residential and commuter students to their campuses on Monday, August 24, and that the 12 community colleges can begin offering in-person courses beginning June 1 for certain students. All classroom content in the system will be delivered in a variety of in-person, online, remote, and hybrid course design models.

Each campus must submit a plan for reopening based on the state’s Phase 3 reopening framework before they are permitted to reopen.

Effective Friday, May 29, the 49-person limit on religious, spiritual, and worship gatherings is raised for indoor gatherings to 25% capacity of the space or a maximum of 100 people, whichever is smaller, and to 150 people for outdoor gatherings. All Houses of Worship are asked to follow proper social distancing and safety protocols.
