HARTFORD – Rep. Gale Mastrofrancesco, R-Wolcott, was sworn in to represent the 80th House District on Wednesday during a ceremony that was attended by her family members.

In addition to serving as Ranking Member of the General Assembly’s Government Administration and Elections Committee, she will also serve on the committees for Children and Human Services.

“The Capitol had been closed for almost two years and Republicans had repeatedly called for it to be reopened to all citizens. Today, the Capitol finally opened for business to the public and began the 2023 Legislative Session.  The residents of our state deserve to have a transparent government that is open to all,” Rep. Mastrofrancesco said. “It’s a critical time for our state and you can be sure that I will continue our work to reduce government waste, make our state more affordable by reducing taxes and strengthen the integrity of our elections.

Rep. Mastrofrancesco continued: “I again took the following oath today, which I take VERY seriously, and I intend to uphold it to the letter.

‘You do solemnly swear (or affirm, as the case may be) that you will support the Constitution of the United States, and the Constitution of the state of Connecticut, so long as you continue a citizen thereof; and that you will faithfully discharge, according to law, the duties of the office of state representative to the best of your abilities; so help you God.'”

As always, you can contact me with any issues you have related to state government, I’m honored to represent the residents of Wolcott and Southington and I look forward to working on your behalf.”

Rep. Mastrofrancesco is available to answer any questions or concerns pertaining to state government.
