Rep. Gale Mastrofrancesco and House Republicans Call for Governor to Stop Implementation of Controversial Truck Tax

HARTFORD—Rep. Gale Mastrofrancesco, R-80th, and House Republicans on Wednesday called for Gov. Lamont to stop the implementation of the truck tax, contending the controversial revenue policy will only increase costs for businesses in the state.

“I voted ‘no’ when this tax bill came up in June, but my Democratic counterparts pushed it through anyway,” Rep. Mastrofrancesco said. “The majority needs to think about how their constant tax increases only hurt small businesses in this state.”

As more of the state begins to get back to business and the Capitol partially re-opens to visitors, Rep. Gale Mastrofrancesco, R-80th, took the opportunity to answer an array of questions posed by students from Wolcott High School during a tour of the building and the Legislative Office Building on Tuesday.

The students also toured the Connecticut Supreme Court as part of an up-close view of the workings of government.
