Rep. Hayes Stands in Support of S.B. No. 339 – Broko’s Bill

On Thursday, I joined my fellow House and Senate Republican legislators to pay tribute to Connecticut State Police K-9 Officer Broko -who sadly died in the line of duty last December.

During today’s press conference, S.B. No. 339, also referred to as “Broko’s Bill,” was introduced that if passed, would require restitution be given to the law enforcement agency, or municipality if this unfortunate situation repeats itself anywhere in our state. As a former law enforcement officer, I can tell you first-hand that our brave K-9 officers faithfully serve and provide unwavering support to their fellow officers.

I am in firm support of this bill and will keep you up to date on its advancement through the legislature. You will not be forgotten Broko.
