    Hartford — To honor Flag Day, State Representative Irene Haines (R-34), in cooperation with VFW Post #5059 and Scout Troop #8, are collecting worn American flags for retirement.

    The U.S. Flag Code specifies that old American flags that are no longer in service must be properly disposed, and this service is being offered free of charge, in conjunction with VFW Post #5059.

    On Tuesday, June 11th, a Flag Retirement Ceremony will be held at the East Hampton VFW Post #5059 located at 20 N. Maple Street in East Hampton, beginning at 7:00 P.M.

    You can drop off your unserviceable American flag to the following locations-

    • East Haddam Town Hall- 1 Plains Road
    • East Hampton Town Hall- 1 Community Drive

    State Representative Irene Haines proudly serves the 34th General Assembly District including the towns of East Haddam, East Hampton, and Salem.
