    Dear Friends and Neighbors,

    I’m sharing some news from DOT that might impact your commute;

    Milling and Resurfacing Project, Route 2 Eastbound in Colchester

    The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 2 Eastbound in Colchester, beginning Thursday, May 9, 2019.

    The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 0.63 mile segment of Route 2 Eastbound in Colchester.  The milling segment for this project is scheduled for Thursday, May 9, 2019,through Friday, May 10, 2019.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Monday, May 13, 2019, through Tuesday, May 14, 2019. This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2019 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

    LANE CLOSURE INFO:

    Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 2 Eastbound from the Route 85 overpass to the east-bound access to Route 354 (approx. 1,160’) in Colchester.  State troopers, crash attenuator vehicles and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is from   7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Thursday – Tuesday)

    Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
