    (HARTFORD) — On Wednesday, February 7th, State Representatives Christie Carpino (Portland), Mark DeCaprio (Lebanon), Irene Haines (East Haddam), and Steve Weir (Hebron) convened with her colleagues in the General Assembly as they marked the start of the 2024 legislative session.

    The representatives submitted the following joint statement regarding the start of session:

    “We are excited to begin the 2024 legislative session as we prepare to address issues such as crime, education funding, and especially affordability. This session will be shorter, primarily including legislation associated with last year’s state budget agreement. We look forward to collaborating with our colleagues and proposing solutions that promote affordability and safety statewide, while continuing to prioritize our concerns at home.”
