HARTFORD — State Representative Irene Haines (R-East Haddam) is calling for increased transparency and accountability from Democrat leadership, criticizing their failure to address the real concerns of Connecticut residents while taxpayer dollars continue to be misused.

“Connecticut residents deserve honest leadership that prioritizes their needs,” said Rep. Haines. “Instead of tackling important issues like the increasing cost of energy and housing, Democrat leadership continues to turn a blind eye to government officials misusing taxpayer dollars for personal gain.”

Rep. Haines highlighted recent examples of waste and misuse, pointing to growing frustration among residents who are struggling with rising costs while public funds are being mismanaged.

“We need transparency and responsible governance,” Haines continued. “Our residents work hard and deserve to know that their tax dollars are being used wisely—not to fund personal perks and irresponsible spending.”

Rep. Haines remains committed to working with her colleagues to push for reforms that hold government officials accountable and ensure that the concerns of Connecticut’s residents are heard.
