EAST HADDAM – State Representative Irene Haines (R-34) recently met with Zoe Belcher, Managing Member at BGT Environmental LLC. as part of an ongoing effort to connect with businesses across the towns of 34th District; East Haddam, East Hampton and part of Colchester.
The company was started in 2016 by Zoe Belcher after years of working for larger environmental consulting firms. BGT Environmental provides Licensed Environmental Profession (LEP) services to both private and public sector clients.
“I was impressed to learn about the wide variety of services offered by BGT. Environmental consulting comes into play for a lot of commercial projects such as brownfield remediation and property transfers,” said Rep. Haines. “It was very helpful to learn first-hand how their business and clients interact with state environmental regulations and what policies might need to be improved. I also appreciated hearing Zoe’s perspective as an entrepreneur and learning what challenges exist for new start-ups in Connecticut.”
