State Representative Linda Orange was a talented legislator and a good friend to many on both sides of the aisle, and her loss is still felt today. As a longtime member of the Public Safety Committee, Representative Orange worked tirelessly to ensure our State Police had the funding needed to keep the doors open and the dispatch center adequately staffed. Yesterday, we honored her legacy by unanimously moving to name the Troop K State Police Barracks in her hometown of Colchester in her memory.
Personally, as her constituent at one time, she always approachable. More recently as her colleague from across the aisle but sharing Colchester, she was a kind and generous mentor who always included me in anything in our shared town. I miss her mentorship and her gracious spirit to this day. I am grateful for the opportunity I had to know her and learn from her, and proud that the House she served so well chose to honor her this way.
