CT Humanities has awarded 624 non-profit arts and cultural groups around the state $16 million through CT Cultural Fund Operating Support Grants approved by the General Assembly and funded by the Department of Economic and Community Development and the Connecticut Office of the Arts.
The grants were specifically meant to support organizations focusing on arts and humanities that have had struggled during the pandemic. They also provide support for upgrading technology and expanding digital programming to better connect K-12 students to the arts and humanities.
“Access to the arts and culture is so important to our community, and during the pandemic we have missed too much,” said Rep. Irene Haines. “I am grateful for this infusion of aid from CT Humanities in our district and was proud to support it last year. I can’t wait to see what these local organizations will do next!”
