HARTFORD — House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora on Wednesday announced that he has appointed state Rep. Robin Green to a leadership position within the caucus, naming her an Assistant Republican Leader.
“Robin has distinguished herself within our caucus as someone who is capable of bringing people together, and that’s a critical skill when it comes to building consensus on increasingly complex issues under consideration in the legislature,” Candelora said. “I’m looking forward to see what Robin will accomplish in this new role, and I know her work will benefit not just our caucus but also her district and the state as a whole.”
Green, first elected in 2016, represents the 55th House District serving residents of Andover, Bolton, Hebron and Marlborough. Most recently, Green served as Ranking Member of the legislature’s Public Safety and Security Committee.
“As I accept this appointment, I am thankful not only for the faith House Republican Leader Candelora and my colleagues have placed in me, but also the continuing support from the families and residents in the 55th District,” Green said. “I am most proud of the budgetary work House Republicans performed in 2017 that has allowed our state to amass record rainy day savings, as well as our continuing effort to reinvigorate our state’s economy.”
