State Representative Tom Delnicki joined The Salvation Army’s annual “Red Kettle Campaign” on December 14th outside of Stop & Shop in South Windsor.

Over the course of an hour, the South Windsor legislator joined Lt. Steven Salmon, a representative from The Salvation Army in the time-honored tradition of ‘Ringing the Bell’ and greeting shoppers with holiday cheer.

“During the holidays, it’s important to remember our friends and neighbors in South Windsor that may need some help just to get by. That’s why I always look forward to volunteering with The Salvation Army – the money collected goes directly to those in our community who need help. If you are able, it’s important to give back where you can and help members of our community in need,” said Rep. Delnicki.

All proceeds will be donated directly to The Salvation Army to provide basic social services to those in need of food, shelter, clothing, and financial assistance. The organization also responds to natural disasters such as wildfires and tornadoes, provides meals and toys to families in need, and conducts research and analyses regarding human needs around the country. They provide adult rehabilitation, veteran services, elderly services, missing person searches, housing assistance, youth recreation, sponsorship, and support in the fight to end human trafficking. The organization has also been instrumental in the fight against COVID-19, working with local, state, and federal officials, as well as other organizations to help our most vulnerable populations.

Those unable to donate in-person may contribute by texting CTREP to 71777.
