Cooley, Plainville Residents Clean-up Hamlin Pond Boat Launch

Posted on April 29, 2024

PLAINVILLE- In celebration of Earth Day, State Rep. Francis Rexford Cooley (R-22) and a few volunteers armed with gloves and trash bags assembled to clean-up debris and litter around the boat launch at Hamlin Pond. This was after Rep. Cooley spent the previous weekend cleaning up in another part of his district in Farmington.

For Rep. Cooley, it’s important to show an example to his constituents, “Taking part in the clean-up for a second straight year, I am still shocked by the volume of trash thrown out of cars that could potentially end up in the pond. We all to be cognizant of how to dispose of our trash and what it does to important natural resources.”

Earth Day is officially celebrated on April 22 each year as a day meant to increase awareness of environmental problems, but also a time for many communities to gather together to clean up litter, plant trees, or simply reflect on the beauty of nature.
